The Election Is Over…Timeless Truths Remain  

Well, the 2016 election is finally behind us and the process of healing must begin for our nation. This article was written on Monday, November 7th the day before the election. I wanted to be sure to write an article that would be free from the influence of the outcome of our political process.

It is my desire to bring to your attention some keys timeless truths that are not affected by the outcome of a political election. Whether our next president is a democrat or republican the following timeless truths remain solidly fixed in the very nature and veracity of the God we serve and the truthfulness His Word.

SOME TRUTHS TO PONDER

  1. God is sovereignly in control.                                 

“Our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases” Psalm 115:3                 

“Whatever the Lord pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth” Psalm 135:6.                                                                                                                        

He “works all things after the counsel of His will” Ephesians 1:11.                                      

  1. God’s Word is true, infallible and inerrant.

God has so inspired Scripture that it is the sure, safe, reliable, eternally true in total.

“The law of the Lord is perfect.” Psalm 19:7

“As for God, His way is perfect,” or “blameless.  Psalm 18:30

“Thy word is very pure.”  Psalm 119

  1. God is true to His Word and promises.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22–23

“Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.” Psalms 119:90 

  1. God is at work in and through His people.

“for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

  1. God commands our trust to be in Him and Him alone, not a political party, not a politician.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

“It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.” Psalm 118:9
