About Steve

Steve and Ambica

Stephen H. Converse, Pastor/Teacher
After pastoring in youth ministry for 15+ years, I accepted the call to pastor Grace Bible Church in Redwood City, CA. I began my ministry of teaching through the precious Word of God here in January, 1998. I  graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Criminology and also earned a degree in Bible/Pastoral Ministry from Christian Heritage College (now San Diego Christian College) in San Diego, CA.

Crystal, Will, Mason, Sophia and Gabrielle

God has blessed me with a very amazing woman, Ambica, and we have been married since 1993 and now reside in Redwood City, CA. We have a wonderful daughter who is married and they have blessed us with 3 wonderful grandchildren. I enjoy teaching and preaching God’s Word in an expository manner allowing the Word of God through the Spirit of God to speak to the hearts of God’s people. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and traveling on occasion. I also enjoy listening to music and playing piano/keyboards. I have the awesome privilege of leading the people I pastor each week in a time of worship before we open the precious Word of God together.

Steve, your Passion and commitment to serve God is what kept me sane all those years ago in my teens. I’m so thankful that God put you in my life at just the right time. My favorite quote from you that I never forgot is ” keep your nose in the Book”.

  2. Brother, came across your invocation at the city council meeting and wanted to offer a word of encouragement. The fight is real, but God is sovereign and will always be on the throne. Keep standing for what is true. I understand how difficult ministry can be after almost 25 years in ministry myself. One of my last pastorates (in north central California) came to an abrupt end after several of the elders declared that salvation is not by grace through faith in Christ alone, and then at a business meeting, almost 70% of the congregation voted in favor of homosexuality not being declared a sin and did not want to take a stand on Biblical marriage.

    Every blessing to you,
